Congratulations to Fern & Aileen on signing for Brighton & Hove Albion in the upcoming FA WSL2.
Aileen started her playing career at Rugby Town Girls FC, moving onto Rushden & Diamonds, Barnet, MK Dons and Nottingham Forest. She then spent three years at Notts County, having joined ahead of their maiden season in the WSL.
Starting out as a central midfielder, she has been playing more often as a striker or wide player in recent seasons.
While at Nottingham Forest, she competed at the World Student Games, winning the gold medal at the 2013 tournament, while internationally she has represented England at Under-23s level.
Aileen joined Everton alongside her former Notts teammate Fern Whelan in May 2017. She made her Blues debut in the 1-0 Spring Series win over Durham at the Select Security Stadium.
She made her first start for the Toffees in the very next fixture at Goodison Park against Watford, marking the occasion with a stunning goal in a 4-0 win.
Aileen’s father Dec, was instrumental in setting the girls club up in the 1990’s.
