Coalville Town U14s v Rugby Town Girls U14s

Rugby Town Girls U14s travelled to Coalville for their latest game. The early start with the clocks going forwards and the fact a few players had been away for DofE trips meant there were a few tired heads amongst them but the team had been in great form recently and were expecting a few goals.

The game kicked off fairly quietly with Molly and Lexy mopping up in defence and the team getting forwards but not making the most of chances. Things changed though when Kayla scored a long range rocket and the team then started to create more and more chances.

Megan was getting behind the defence on one side and Ella charging up the other wing and crosses were coming across the Coalville box. Charlotte added a second when she scored with a powerful finish and there were 2 more goals before half time from Cesca who was tormenting the Coalville defence.

In the second half there were frequent changes for tired players and to give experience in differing roles. Molly took charge of the midfield and scored a great goal and looked to create for her teammates and Mims was a constant threat and showed some nice touches and was unlucky not to score.

Lexy consistently marked the opposition and prevented breakaways whilst the team pushed forwards in numbers and played the game in the coalville half while Jodie in goal watched on from distance with little to do.

Amber moved up front for the last 10 minutes and scored a great goal as she controlled the ball with 2 deft touches before volleying home and Charlotte, who had been showing she is just as secure in defence as she is threatening in an attacking role, added a final goal with a powerful long range effort.

Some great goals from the team to enjoy and a good win which took them into 3rd place in the league.
