Team: Anna, Anya, Chloe, Freya, Holly, Maddie and Megan (c).
The first game back after the Christmas break and the u8s Wildcats faced Kibworth Town at Kilsby Lane. The previous game against Kibworth was a tough one for the girls and they knew they would have to be at their best today.
Megan started in goal and made some great saves in the opening minutes, her goal kicks are some of the best I have seen which always puts the girls on the attack. Chloe and Freya battled hard against the Kibworth defence, passing and shooting brilliantly. Anna and Holly were both excellent in support, tackling as soon as their opposition came near them with the ball.
Anya replaced Anna before the first half for a well earned break, she slotted into the position perfectly, tackling at will and displaying some great passing. Maddie replaced Freya and ran tirelessly with the ball, the whole team were fantastic and came off the pitch smiling at the end of the half.
The second half saw Holly replace Megan in goal and the Wildcats started where they left off from the first half, all battling and working brilliantly as a team. The passing and movement from each of them was great to see and it was now time to alter the team a little with Freya taking her place between the sticks. Megan and Chloe played at the back whilst Anya, Anna and Maddie played their part higher up the pitch when called upon.
Chloe and Anna also played their part, both playing in goal and as the second half drew to a close, the Wildcats finished the game, smiling constantly for the 40 minutes.
Every player deserves a medal today for how well they played, we are all super proud of them!
