Groby Jnrs u11s v Rugby Town Girls u11s

Rugby u11s played their 1st away game at Groby on Sunday in a blustery wind and on a sloping pitch.

Rugby played the 1st half against the slope and the wind but still managed to play some very good passing football getting off the mark almost immediately from kick off.

The Groby keeper was the busier of the two and pulled off some really good saves to deny the Rugby forwards but the pressure continued and conceded more.

At the other end Jenna was again at her best when the Rugby goal was threatened, ably assisted in defence by Marley, Rosie and Katie.

The second half started much like the first half with the Rugby midfield of Madi, Lila ⚽️⚽️and Jasmine ⚽️⚽️ creating chances for Melissa ⚽️⚽️ up front.

With the wind behind them, they were encouraged to have shots from distance but once again found the Groby keeper in excellent form.

In the end Rugby’s dominance paid off and the girls once again gave a good all round performance and another clean sheet.
