With over 130,000 girls taking part in the FA Girls Football Week in 2016, through various sessions delivered by schools, universities, colleges & clubs, the FA hopes to double the number of girls & women playing football by 2020 through this national campaign.
At our training sessions on Friday evening at Kilsby Lane, we saw a number of new girls attending for the first time, joining various sessions throughout the different age groups & it was very pleasing to see them all enjoying playing football. The girls also gave some very positive feedback from the sessions. The FA Girls Football Week finale ended on a very successful note for all of the Rugby Town Girls FC teams involved in matches this weekend.
Also, a very special mention to all of our Rugby Town FC girls who play for one of our partner primary schools, @abbotsfarm Junior School girls team travelled to Paddox Primary School in the week. In total 6 Rugby Town Girls FC players turned out for Abbots Farm in a well contested game with Abbots Farm coming out victors in a great match to watch. Well done to all the girls involved.
