Harborough Town v Rugby Town U10

Sunday 27th November

Squad: Bella, Norah, Sophie, Ellie, Olivia, Millie, Emma, Gracie, Poppy

Sponsor: Purely Mortgages

This week saw the u10s face Harborough Town for the 2nd time in a row. This time being away the girls face the long drive over for an early 9:30 kick off.

The girls main objective today was to pass the ball around the pitch as they are familiar with playing on astro. The aim was for at least 3 passes to be made before any attacking play..

The girls struggles to do this at the start but soon settled into the game and found their positions. Rugby found passing difficult due to the opposition surrounding the ball meaning Rugby had to change their game plan.

Good work through midfield saw plenty of chances being made for the strikers today. Midfield worked really hard on coming back to help the defenders which is a huge improvement.

In the second half the u10s worked hard on their control and play of the ball which made it harder for the energetic Harborough to win the ball back.

Rugbys attack today was very strong and our counterattack was dangerous. Brilliant runs down the wings and crosses into the box made for Rugbys corner count to tot up nicely. (Thankfully we practiced attacking corners ALOT)

This match was a really team game today and all girls were involved in our successes.

PP: Gracie for non stop work and creating and taking chances.

MP: Millie for constant battles on and off the ball and creating chances for her team.
