Rugby took on an inexperienced Harborough Town in a lunchtime kickoff. Rugby started with Norah in goal, Poppy and Olivia in defence, Ellie, Millie, Gracie in midfield and Ellen upfront.
Rugby started confidently and enjoyed a lot of possession inside the opposition half. The girls were able to demonstrate their passing to the wings and their powerful shots from outside the box.
As the half progressed, Rugby were able to make more use of the wings and begin to put dangerous crosses into the box. Regular changes saw Olivia move upfront and Anika and Bella came in to midfield.
In the 2nd half, the team took the opportunity to try some different formations and play different roles to usual. Bella moved in to goal and Anika played solo in defence. Rugby interchanged between 4 in midfield and 2 upfront.
The girls were asked to focus on their passing in the 2nd half and play with patience and be less direct. The girls responded to this well and produced so e good periods of play.
Parents Player: Ellen, played a number of positions and worked hard despite taking a couple of knocks
Managers player: Norah, kept her focus in goal and found space well on the left side of midfield in the 2nd half
