Entertaining match today! Both teams gave it 100% on a tricky playing surface, a change from the smooth Astro we are used to in training! But for a few unlucky moments at either end of the pitch, the result could have been different today.
Some particular highlights were Saanvi’s resolute defensive work, numerous times proving strong and confident against great opposition, and Lily’s awareness to pick out a couple of great passes forward, splitting the opposition’s defence.
Special mention should also go to May for being fastest to respond to a tricky rebound.
Scarlett continues to do a solid job in defence, always willing to get stuck in with a tackle and not afraid to kick the ball to safety when required.
Evelyn continues to give it 100% effort, and made some important interceptions during her defensive spell in the first quarter.
Lexi and Erin continue to bring their best game every week and at several times during the game showed their skill and composure, dribbling past the talented opposition and creating strong opportunities.
In general a solid performance from all. The focus on positioning during dead-ball plays in training is translating to the teams performance on the pitch, and with a continued focus and determination from everyone we can get back to a place where the team’s natural talent and flair can thrive.
