The U11s played out a very even game against a good Harborough Town side on Sunday.
The game started out with Harborough on the front foot, playing some excellent football with a couple of girls showing some fine skills.
Harborough took advantage of their good start with a quick break from a Rugby attack.
The Town Girls however began to play their way into the game and, following a period of pressure and a succession of corners, Soph danced through the Harborough defence.
As the game progressed, the new change in formation in the Town defence began to show greater stability. Kelsey was playing as a stopper, excellently marking up the Harborough forward whilst Bella really grew into her new role of sweeper.
Both girls were not only breaking up the attacks but were also playing some wonderful passes out of defence.
The 2nd half saw the Town Girls begin to show their best passing of the season. Maddie, Soph, Mia and Alice were looking for each other and making good movements, and greater connectivity was being shown.
A stunning performance by Lara in goal as both sides continued to play some good football.
An even game was fair for both sides in what was a very nice sporting game of football.
We would like to say a big thank you to Harborough who were wonderful hosts, and our sponsors, Unipart Group for their continued support
