With a nice 10:30 kick off our U9s hosted the very local Rugby Borough. With the sun shining and 4 subs the girls turned up in good spirits today and in a confident mindset.
I gave the girls 2 things to focus on today as a team which were, be strong and don’t be afraid. This was executed really well which led to a great success for the u9s today.
Norah started out in goal today and with some great goal kicks into the space gave our attacking players of Olivia and Millie some great opportunities further up the pitch. All of the girls were relaxed today and played some brilliant football with Millie in midfield linking up really well with Olivia upfront saw Rugby Town celebrating early on.
Some great saves from Norah ensured Rugby Borough were denied success on the odd chance they broke down our very strong defence. A great run down the middle of the pitch saw Ellie celebrate and the rest of the team cheering for the second time. With a big change around during the first half saw Sophie, Rishi, Poppy, and Bella enter the pitch for the rest of the half.
After the half time oranges were scoffed Olivia pulled her gloves on and went in goal. With some more great defending Rugby Borough started to get frustrated as they could not breakdown the strong Rugby Town defenders and goal keepers. With some more fantastic runs and passes from Millie RT were knocking on the door once again. RT were quick to react from RB goal kicks which saw Millie become successful for the final time today.
Managers Player – Olivia for non-stop work on the pitch and some great saves and goal kicks.
Parents player – Millie for some brilliant team play and showing some great skill throughout.
Shoutout to Rishi for making her club debut today and to Harrison for refereeing.
