The U10s Girls played their 1st match since June in our season opener against Haunchwood this Sunday. The girls are new to 7 a side matches but adapted well to, what seemed like, an enormous pitch!
We had 2 new girls playing their first matches ever, Lara and Isabella, and they both showed they will have a lot to offer the team. The girls started the game strongly, and Vic took her chance well.
Haunchwood then came back very strongly, and a few defensive mistakes gave Haunchwood the advantage.
As the game continued, the girls gave their all, whilst Haunchwood’s strong substitute bench meant our 7 girls had to dig deep. Mia took the chance that came her way well, and the girls finished the game strongly.
Players of the Match awards went to Maddie, for her strong non-stop performance in central midfield, and Izzy, who gave her customary all action display.
Mia played a strong game, particularly when she moved to left midfield, whilst Alice was outstanding and played her best ever game for the team.
Vic showed of some of her lovely passing ability, whilst both new girls, Lara and Isabella, should be very proud of how they played.
