Since the return to football, the club’s newest and 3rd group of under 8s at Rugby Town Girls FC Weetabix Wildcats Centre, have been learning plenty of ball skills that all our girls go through to ensure they receive not just match play but plenty of individual skill-based coaching. The young leaders took each of the girls to an area where they could demonstrate these skills for the awards to be given out at the end of the session.
The skills achievement certificate was for the girls demonstrating:
- Turning techniques (outside, inside, drag back to name a few)
- Dribbing with the ball
- Running with the ball
- Passing using the right part of the foot
- Shooting on Target
- Knowledge of Defense and Forward pitch positions
Well done to all that took part in the session, we have a couple more to complete the group next week.
Rugby Town Girls FC is a Weetabix Wildcats Centre, for girls aged 5-11 years old.
With most of the girls in the group new to football, learning new skills while playing football, and meeting new friends is all about having plenty of fun.
