It was wonderful to see the girls return to training on Friday after a prolonged absence, and fantastic to see so many familiar and fresh faces š Even better that the Easter Bunny had stopped by to bring a special treat for all the RTGWFC family š°š„
Our U8 Lionesses had a fab friendly at Thurlaston on Sunday, they put on a determined display with some fantastic football on show from both teams.Ā Huge well done to all of the girls involved and a special congratulations to Norah for winning Player of the Match š
There was a huge derby on Saturday which sent ripples through the local footballing community – Rugby Town Girls vs Rugby Town Girls š²Ā Our U10 team but up a valiant display against our U11 Lionesses, with some attractive football on display in the friendliest of friendlies š well done to all of the girls involved for showcasing female football at it’s finest!
Our U11 Wildcats were also in action on Sunday in a competitive friendly against strong opposition and familiar foes East Goscote – it was a fine attacking performance from both teams with end-to-end chances, a hugely entertaining game to watch and great preparation for their return to League action next weekend ššŖ
The U8 Wildcats also put on a huge performance away from home on Saturday; all of the girls showed great determination and commitment throughout in their new kit, with some excellent skills on show.Ā It’s fantastic to see so many fabulous female footballers flying the flag for the beautiful game in their first weekend back! ā½šš
