The U11s put in an excellent performance in their Sunday game against Glenfield.

Following the early disappointment of Mia being unable to play as well as missing Soph, Amelia was drafted in at very short notice to make her debut. Thank you so much to Amelia’s parents for getting her there so quickly!

The girls, however, rose to those setbacks and played some excellent football.  An early corner was executed perfectly by Kels.   Strong play by Maddie following some excellent team play gave the girls breathing space in the game.  Glenfield galvanised themselves and pushed back at the home side and increased the pressure in the game. The 2nd half saw a resurgent Rugby side,  especially Iz and Maddie.

All the players did very well today, especially as it was their 1st game since early December.

Lara got the ball out really well and did excellently, especially in the 2nd half.

Bella was great as sweeper, and really good when she went to left midfield in the 2nd half.

Kels, brilliant at the back, then showed what she can do when she went into holding midfield.

Willow had her best game to date.  Brilliant covering in the 2nd half.

Maddie and Iz combined brilliantly today. Iz had her best game of the season, and shone in a more central role in Soph’s absence.

Amelia should be very proud of her 1st game for the girls. She showed great composure on the ball in a great debut.

All the players did very well today, especially as it was their 1st game since early December. Well done to all the girls on excellent individual and team performances.
