A fantastic Friday night at Butlin Road where we hosted the Celtic FC Girls and Boys touring teams. This fixture has taken place over many years and only paused over the last two years due to the pandemic.
This year’s fixture did not disappoint and was bigger than ever before. The clubhouse was bursting at the seams and the stands were satisfyingly full. A fantastic location to stage a great evening of youth football. We were joined by Hillmorton Juniors FC playing the boys from Celtic FC.
The evening has always created long-lasting memories for all that take part. This year it was the turn of the RTGWFC under 13s girls. Early nerves as expected, due to their first taste of 11 a side football on a full-sized pitch in a stadium in front of over 200 people. However. both teams went on to produce a great display on the pitch for the spectators.
After the match, the teams retired to the clubhouse for food and a chance to catch up properly with the visitors.
Thank you to Tim, Martin, Pierrick, and Learna and all the girls for taking care of the football side, Tony for refereeing, and Grace and Leah from our Womens Team, for running the line. Huge thanks to Jacki and her team in the clubhouse for working tirelessly all evening.
