The U10s made their way to scenic Kibworth for Sunday’s game.
The girls started slowly (not the game plan) and were obviously not fans of the early afternoon kick-off. Kibworth were putting a lot of pressure on the Town defence.
The girls slowly began to play their way back into the game and were putting together some lovely team moves. However, it became apparent that the girls had decided to leave the best for the 2nd half.
They began to move the ball a lot quicker and were making the pitch much bigger with some great passing.
Lara was efficiently dealing with any through balls to command her penalty area, Bella was playing some lovely passes, Mia was getting into some great spaces on the right and was linking well with Alice, who was making some great runs upfront.
Taking advantage of another lovely move, Soph made an excellent positive run. Iz was then soon fouled just outside the box and was awarded a free-kick.
Several more presses were developed by the Town Girls way. After more fine expansive play by the girls, Maddie had positive activity upfront. Kibworth finished the game with a fine free-kick.
The girls should be very proud of their 2nd half performance. They overcame a poor 1st half by their standards and finished the game strongly.
Big thanks to our marvelous parents for their excellent support, Kibworth who were excellent hosts and played really well; and our sponsors Unipart Group.
