A cold and windy afternoon in Leicester gave us a real challenge.
We started well and gained confidence with an early successful shot on target but this was soon cancelled out when the home team struck back.
The girls battled really hard in the conditions against a strong and certainly a physical team. The game was end-to-end but the home team started to dominate and hit the target a couple more times.
Our girls then did what they do best, hard graft and a show of determination. With some great runs forward and some nice passing we managed to claw our way back.
Our keeper Ellie H made a brave and painful decision to come out and go to ground against a tough player who unfortunately made stud to hand contact causing Ellie to have to come off and Astrid taking the net.
After a short period of recovery with another show of grit Ellie came back on the pitch in midfield and helped us to celebrate again, which saw the honours even.
