The U14s travelled to Oadby & Wigston for their cup tie and put in another extremely strong performance. The game started with an early goal and the team never looked back. Attacking with skill and and vision to create numerous chances and defending strongly when the opposition tried to break. The game was played almost exclusively in the Oadby & Wigston half and there were 6 goals for the team in the first half and the girls came in extremely pleased with their performance.
The second half started with a few role changes and change in formation as a chance to work on different aspects of play and if anything the team were even more dominant. They matched the first half goals and again completed a clean sheet. All the players played well individually and contributed to a great team performance. They completed an emphatic win whilst also showing development for the future and once again demonstrating great team spirit and enjoyment of playing together.
Amber concentrated well in goal and was quick off her line when needed. Ella strong once again in defence and showed again how she can adapt to different roles to show off her abilities. Lexy was forced off early from her defensive role but came back on and played mainly in midfield with energy and good distribution. Erin demonstrated why she is a strong reliable player by winning every battle and passing well. Cesca showed discipline in a defensive role in the first half and skill when back in a more familiar attacking role in the second half. Molly and Kayla ran the midfield and both took turns in defence where Kayla snuffed out attacks and Molly looked to be the starting point of attacks with her passes. Jodie used the special attention she got as striker to pull defenders out of position and create space. Savannah was brilliant on the wing keeping possession and putting their defence under pressure by attacking the goal. Megan consistently got herself into goalscoring positions and got shots away at goal. Charlotte played down the right-hand side and was consistently getting in behind the opposition defence and also showed intelligence when to come back and help the defence. Another superb performance
