Rugby Town Girls u11s v East Goscote Girls u11s

A one sided game on Sunday against a very brave East Goscote side brought an avalanche of goals.

With Rosie missing from the Rugby line up and Madi making her return back to the side after 7 weeks out, it did not take long before Rugby took the lead with a smartly taken goal. The East Goscote defence were at six and seven’s as Rugby started to play some good passing football.

Jasmine and Lila were a threat every time they got near to goal and the Goscote keeper made some marvellous saves to keep the score down. Chances were coming and going at a very fast rate with Jenna not having very much to do as the majority of the play was in the Goscote half. Melissa came on as a sub and made her presence felt straight away with some surging runs and shots at the Goscote goal.

Rugby were still playing some lovely passes which were opening up the Goscote defence and a couple of chances fell to Holly who once again brought out the best of the Goscote keeper.

Half time was observed by a two minute silence before play kicked off again. To try and even things up, Rugby reverted to only six outfield players against the seven of Goscote and decided to mix positions with Jasmine going into goal to allow Jenna to play in defence. Defenders Katie and Marley now led the attack with Holly and Melissa starting in midfield and helping at the back with Jenna.

Goscote decided to change goalkeepers at this point but this did not make matters any better as Rugby once again sliced through the opposing defence to make a chance for Melissa . Katie and Marley were making a nuisance of themselves and causing all sorts of problems to the Goscote defence who just could not clear their lines. Lila came on for Holly and Melissa went into goal but the play was nonstop in the opposing half. Chances fell to Marley Lila and Jasmine before Katie ended the scoring just before the final whistle.
