Rugby Town had a good turnout of players after the end of the holidays and they came down Kilsby Lane ready to play Hillmorton Girls for the third time this season.
The first half the girls played with a new formation and pressed well up the pitch to play the game almost entirely in the Hillmorton half. Hillmorton defended deep and in numbers but the players worked their way through a number of times. They all showed commitment and willing in sometimes different roles and 2 goals for Molly and 1 for Charlie confirmed the advantage and the players went in to half time happy.
The message at that point was that they had done well to put themselves in that position and to continue in that vein and even more goals would come. Another slight change in formation showed again the players adaptability and save for a few breakaways for Hillmorton which were dealt with when needed there was a lot more pressure combined with quick interplay between the forwards and midfield leading to constant chances.
It was great to see Hannah feature again after a long time side-lined with injury and the play between her and Megan, Charlie, Molly and Ella caused the Hillmorton defence headaches. Charlotte, who had played practically every position, got herself a goal when coming on for the last 5 minutes up front and there was another goal for Molly as well as goals for Ella, Megan and Savannah.
