Rugby progressed through to the semi finals of the cup with a victory over Leicester. Playing against a much improved side the girls gradually got themselves into the game and took the lead through Melissa. They continued to press the advantage and came very close to increasing their lead on quite a few occasions before Melissa converted from another assist from Jasmine.
This cushion allowed some substitutions to be made with Poppy, Holly and Katie joining in the action. Leicester started to get more into the game as half time approached but found Marley, Rosie, and Jenna in fine form in defence.
The second half kicked off in a similar vein to the first with Rugby once again making the better chances but unable to convert until Lila took a pass from Madi and found a way past their keeper to wrap up the game.
We now meet AFC Leicester away on Sunday which promises to be a tough game.
