Anstey Swifts u10s v Rugby Town Girls FC u10s

With a weakened team through holidays & injuries, the u10s fought hard against Anstey u10s in an evenly matched game.

Jenna stood strong in goal, good catches & blocks. Captain Rosie & coaches player of the match Marley made some great tackles in defence & passed the ball out to midfield & the wings well.

Madi, Lila, Katie & Poppy took turns in midfield to use the ball well & feed Melissa up front who went on some uncatchable runs but we just couldn’t convert our many chances. Anstey changed their tactics with 10 mins to go to stifle Melissa’s progress in their half.

Rugby picked up a couple of injuries with Lila struggling with a hamstring strain after over stretching to win a ball, Rosie came off after getting a knock & Melissa struggled to finish the last few minutes after also receiving a knock. Overall an evenly fought contest & the girls played well as a team, great effort girls! Parents player of the match awarded to Melissa.
