Rugby Town Girls U11’s v GreenTowers Hinckley FC U11’s

The U11s team opened their season with a home game against a very competitive and very strong GreenTowers side. Rugby had players join from the last years U10s and U11s sides as well as new players and this was their first ever game together as a team.

Coach Tony put the players through a pre-match warm up to shake the cobwebs out. There were a number of positional changes and substitutions made, to allow Tony to get a feel of where the players will be best suited.

Some really good positives throughout the game, including some very committed saves from goalkeeper Sophia, especially a fantastic penalty save! Isabella, Ella and Ellie gave some good defensive performances and tried very hard to stick to the opposition players. Kelsey, Evie and Mia’ s work rate was fantastic, Hannah worked hard to find some space on the wing and upfront. Amy ran a good few miles keeping close to the opposition’s attacking players & Evelina kept the pressure on throughout the game.

The girls worked very hard and should be pleased with how they performed. Looking forward to seeing Tony work with the girls during training and focusing on next week’s next home game.
